Anti-Hazing Statement

Delta Mu Xi Sorority, Incorporated maintains an absolute, zero-tolerance position against hazing in every form.

Our Position

Sisterhood is built through dignity, mentorship, and mutual respect — never through humiliation, coercion, or harm. Hazing is fundamentally incompatible with our values of leading authentically, loving freely, and serving boldly. It is strictly prohibited in every chapter, at every level of the organization, at all times.

What Constitutes Hazing

Hazing includes any action taken or situation created, intentionally or not, whether on or off organizational premises, that produces mental or physical discomfort, embarrassment, harassment, or ridicule as a condition of membership or standing.

This includes but is not limited to: physical harm or forced activity; forced or coerced consumption of any substance; sleep or food deprivation; personal servitude; verbal abuse or degradation; forced isolation; required silence periods used punitively; financial exploitation; and any act that violates the law or the dignity of a woman.

Consent Is Not a Defense

The willingness of an individual to participate does not excuse hazing. Any member who participates in, permits, or fails to report hazing is accountable under this policy.

Reporting

Any member, interested woman, family member, or community partner who suspects hazing must report it immediately to National Leadership through the Contact page of this website. Reports may be submitted confidentially. Retaliation against a person who reports in good faith is itself a violation of this policy.

Consequences

Substantiated hazing results in immediate disciplinary action, which may include suspension of membership, expulsion, revocation of chapter charter, and referral to law enforcement or institutional authorities as required by law.
